Alligator Gumbo

Went to New Orleans last week on business and had one of my all time favorite dishes - alligator gumbo. It doesn't taste like chicken, but it does taste like sausage. By the way, that was my third visit to Bourbon Street. What a dump. It makes downtown Troy look clean.

Good news....

Whats the word?
I took a predictor test for the state boards and did really well. I got a 71% and the average was 56% (they don't do it out of 100, it's based on what everyone else gets or something like that). I also scored the highest in the class and 96th percentile in the country. Yay me! I'm surprised I did so well.

Here's a funny one for ya......

Whats the word?
So, when we were on the boat Saturday I jumped in the lake with my phone in my pocket and it wouldn't turn back on...then last night we were on our way out to get ice cream and I grabbed it and it worked! We got to Snowman's, ate our ice cream and were getting ready to leave and I couldn't find my phone. We searched for about 10 minutes with no luck and decided someone must have stole it...so we went and filed a police report. Meanwhile I had the phone being shut off in the morning. We kept calling it and someone would pick up but not say anything....at this point I was pretty mad and kept yelling in the phone for them to just please return it to me. I even offered $20 if they would give it back but no one answered me, there was just music in the background. So about an hour later Brett calls the phone...."Troy police, Officer ....I'll meet you at the station with your phone in 10 minutes."
We got there and waited with the same cop who had taken our report about it being stolen, the same cop I was telling that someone must have stolen it out of our car while we were eating ice cream...saying that maybe who ever stole it got scared,threw it on the ground and someone else found it... because how else would they have found it? So the cop with the phone gets there and Brett says, "Wow, how did you guys ever find the phone? What are the odds of that?" The cop says, "The odds of someone getting their phone back are slim to none....but since the guy who turned it in was a deaf-mute, I doubt he'd have any use for it." LOL

So needless to say, I felt like a jerk for thinking someone stole it and the cops found it pretty funny....I wish I could have gave the guy something for returning it. And since I had the phone shut off, they can't rectivate it until tomorrow. *sigh* Only me....
