Hi Everyone~
Just wanted to let everyone know that Jim is doing great! Yesterday he got up and walked a little and is saying tomorrow he wants to go further. He is such a trooper, and I admire him for staying so strong thru all of this. He is much appreciating his gift, it lets him zone out and forget the pain.
I will be back with more updates!
I hope everyone is well!

Surgery Update

We got the call from the Hospital this afternoon. My surgery is at 7:30 am, on the 26th(will be from 5-8hrs long). I went today and did all my pre-admission testing. I jokingly said to the doctor last week, that while he was in there would he take my appendix out. Then I don't have to have another operation in the future, if it decides to go bad later on in life..Ha Ha. He told me that once he did take out someone's appendix, because it looked funny, and later found out they did have appendicitis(go figure). I also so want to once again thank everyone for the support, wishes, and prayers that we have been recieving. In a time like this it has helped us to deal with these stressful times.

Jim's gift - What a great family!

I know some of you have contacted me to let me know your check is in the mail.. So I've taken those messages into consideration as well as the money received online and just wanted to say THANKS! You guys are great. This money is going to our family member that will really need a pick-me-up during the many months to come. I'm not sure what it will be like for Jim, but this gift expresses how much we care about him, and just might make those hard days easier.
wow! Look what you did!

Southern CT Relatives

We just went to see Robots. Even though our cousin Shane Salerno didn't write it and Maria's friend Mary didn't cast it, we still liked it.

I wish your tree fell on the deer that have been grazing in my back yard. The Cietek household hates Bambi.

I'm temporarily working 4 ten hour days and I like not being at work that extra day so much that I'm looking at ways to cut back even further. Having grown up in Troy, it's in my blood. We grew up living near some of the finest vagrants you'll ever meet.

Blog with you later.

The Word From Jim

I just wanted test my Treo to see if I can post with with it. Then I might be able to post from the hospital. I also wanted to thank everyone from the prayers, wishes, and support that you have sent. My phone restricts how much I can type( so you might see this a lot from me,when I use my phone). Everyone's support is helping me keep a positive attatude, and determination through this scary time.

Jims' Time - Please Help with Gift.

HEY EVERYONE. As you may have read Jim is going to be spending time in the hospital.
This includes his birthday. We hope to give Jim a new Playstation Portable for his birthday, it will take his mind off things while spending many days in a hospital room. This is about a 300.00 purchase, and it would be great if everyone could donated just $5, $10, or even $20 to help us out with the cost. Please Click on the make a donation button to help us out!.. Any questions as me -Rebecca

Update.

Hello Everyone.
Just wanted to put in an update on the status here. Jim will be going in for surgery on the 28th. The surgeon that we are going with just moved to the Albany area recently to become the only surgeon in the area that specializes in the procedure that Jim is getting. He has been well trained and worked for a long time at John Hopkins. He is optimistic, but at the same time cautious. This is all very scary, because there are a few risks w/this surgery...but we are still trying to be positive without being naive.
So to wrap up...Jim in the hospital for my b-day and back in the hospital for his b-day! What a year! Aahhh...
We'll let you know more when we know more!

PS...the tree came down this weekend! it was great!

Spring is here!

And the time is right for dancin' in the streets! Ha! This is an awesome idea! Well baseball opening day was yesterday and as I was sitting on the bleachers with several other mom's and family. The coach came out of the dugout and said, very loudly I might add.."Mrs. Matan, your son Anthony is up to bat next and he wants you to pay attention!" Well, everyone on the bleachers and within earshot laughed like hell. It was pretty funny! Anyway, he walked to first but he looked pretty scared as the pitcher seemed to be trying to hit him in the ass and in the head! This should be an exciting season! So if you are looking for me, I will be at the games watching intently at my sons playing baseball!
