A good time was had by ALL. Last night local PanCan members, supporters and local politicians joined in some FUN to raise some FUNDS. What a cool night: food, drinks, comedy, 50/50, some pictures, boobie magnets and an auction!!! We had a great time. Jim got to go up on stage and shake some surviving ass. :0) Just kidding. But his quote did make it to the program!!

Loooook at all these survivors. :) Heather and I went to NYC yesterday for the annual Pancreatic Cancer Action Network Symposium. Jim was not able to make it due to Chemo treatment side effects but we were thinking about his ALL day especially when they took this survivor picture! What a great turnout!

Aloha everyone! I promise to have pictures for the blog soon (they are on my other computer!) but wanted to give the updates-- Waikiki was fantastic... I'm hoping the tan won't fade too quickly. Jeff and I got a free 4 day trip there, all expenses paid, plus we added a few extra days there. We saw Pearl Harbor, the Kualoa ranch where they filmed Jurassic Park, Pearl Harbor, Godzilla (beautiful!) and over to Sunset Beach at the north shore of Oahu- where he proposed to me the sand- and I said YES:) More updates to come when we decide on a date and such.

The main purpose of this book was for family collaboration, as well as handing down traditions. I thank everyone that contributed, and sent their recipes to us. Thank you so much. Went out to dinner lastnight and had a great time. The meal was BEYOND outstanding. Our friend Paul was waiting on us and gave us the best service. Our meal consisted of the homemade bread and olive spread, Eggplant with Four Cheeses (on the house) *excellent! Puttanesca Napolitana: Tomatoes, Olives, Anchovies, Capers, Pancetta, Hot Pepper and the night special Monk fish with sauted Escarole. For desert we shared Tiramisu and with some coffees. The atmosphere is quaint-sophisticated: live jazz band plays on friday nights. FIVE STARS. * * * * * (Rebecca & Kevin)

Went to New Orleans last week on business and had one of my all time favorite dishes - alligator gumbo. It doesn't taste like chicken, but it does taste like sausage. By the way, that was my third visit to Bourbon Street. What a dump. It makes downtown Troy look clean.

Whats the word?
I took a predictor test for the state boards and did really well. I got a 71% and the average was 56% (they don't do it out of 100, it's based on what everyone else gets or something like that). I also scored the highest in the class and 96th percentile in the country. Yay me! I'm surprised I did so well.

Whats the word?
So, when we were on the boat Saturday I jumped in the lake with my phone in my pocket and it wouldn't turn back on...then last night we were on our way out to get ice cream and I grabbed it and it worked! We got to Snowman's, ate our ice cream and were getting ready to leave and I couldn't find my phone. We searched for about 10 minutes with no luck and decided someone must have stole it...so we went and filed a police report. Meanwhile I had the phone being shut off in the morning. We kept calling it and someone would pick up but not say anything....at this point I was pretty mad and kept yelling in the phone for them to just please return it to me. I even offered $20 if they would give it back but no one answered me, there was just music in the background. So about an hour later Brett calls the phone...."Troy police, Officer ....I'll meet you at the station with your phone in 10 minutes."
We got there and waited with the same cop who had taken our report about it being stolen, the same cop I was telling that someone must have stolen it out of our car while we were eating ice cream...saying that maybe who ever stole it got scared,threw it on the ground and someone else found it... because how else would they have found it? So the cop with the phone gets there and Brett says, "Wow, how did you guys ever find the phone? What are the odds of that?" The cop says, "The odds of someone getting their phone back are slim to none....but since the guy who turned it in was a deaf-mute, I doubt he'd have any use for it." LOL

So needless to say, I felt like a jerk for thinking someone stole it and the cops found it pretty funny....I wish I could have gave the guy something for returning it. And since I had the phone shut off, they can't rectivate it until tomorrow. *sigh* Only me....

Boy do I feel like a slacker not keeping up with you and the rest of the world.. I need info like when Ashley's graduation is and how everyone is doing.. Maria- you had the GB surgery- are you okay? and the clan from CT- how was Disney? To keep you updated here- I decided to move the practice out of Edwards office and into my own on Route 4 starting July 1st. This will be a hell of a month though if I'm to see patients then- I only have the walls up! No carpet, paint, nothing! I'm super nervous since my overhead just doubled, but I needed the space. I'll keep you posted. And I'm still working at the hospital 2 nights a week during the graveyard shift- so I really forgot what sleep is like. But there is fun to be had too- I just got back from Iowa (Yes I consider a trip to IA FUN!) to go to a friend's wedding. It was in a corn field!- Gotta love the midwest. Go JOHN DEERE.

Day 1 of Chemo...11 more to go

Today I started chemo. I have to go for 6 months(2 weeks on, 2 weeks off). Today was day 1 of 12, I went at 8:30am, it's now 11am, and so far I don't feel any ill effects from chemo(so far so good). I am starting to feel better each day(good days, bad days..). I'm now eating more, but not as much as I would like(trying to get back up to eating speed before Ashley's Grad BBQ..ha ha). Sorry I haven't posted to update people, but the first couple of weeks I did alot of napping after eating. I'm finally starting to walk more upright(not like a caveman..ha ha). We got the tumor boards back, and all the margins were negitive(which means the surgeon got all of the physical tumor out), it did involve 3 lymph nodes on a microscopic level( this is the reason for the chemo, so it doesn't pop up in another part of my body a year from now. Hopefully I'll be able to go back to some sort of normal life within the year, and I'll try to post more often.

Whats the word?
So, we went to Great Escape this weekend. It was pretty fun, the kids loved the rides but of course I forgot my camera. I have some passes to return for $15 if anyone wants them they expire June 30th.
I passed the first day of my med passing test in clinical. So if all goes well tomorrow I'll pass and be able to graduate. And if I don't, well then I don't know what will happen. But I'm confident about it anyway. :) So mark it on your calendar's, July 7th at 6:30 at Genet school in East Greenbush. And pool party on July 9th at my mom's! Woohoo. I think this will be the first thing I've sucessfully finished ever and I honestly can't believe I am. lol
So anyway, I added a few new pictures to my blog. Check it out.
